It-model Arizona Muse graces one of i-D‘s eight covers (others include Andrej Pejic, Julia-Restoin Roitfeld and Raf Simons) for their “Lights Camera Action” issue. In what we imagine is a bit of a nod to her first name, the magazine and photographer Kayt Jones went with a southwestern theme for the cover shoot, which involves rugged overalls with nothing underneath, bolo ties, shawls, braids with feathers and Native American jewlery. Even better than the cover, though, is the truly bizarre short film they shot to go along with it, in which she rides a horse in slow motion while wearing t-shirt with everything below the armpit cut off, all while reciting a passage from The Outcast of Poker Flat by Francis Bert Harte. Thankfully, she’s not going very fast. But still. Watch below (slightly NSFW). Read more »

Even if you think you know the history–or myth, in some cases–of Tom Ford’s design career, it’s a unique experience to be able to hear it told in the first person, by the man himself. We got to experience it Tuesday night at the 92nd Street Y for the latest “Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis” along with a stylish group of vente-privee members (that’s right, the fabulous member-only shopping site with brands like Wolford, Cavalli and Miraval Spa also offered VIP access to this amazing evening – have you signed up for your trip to Paris yet?) The room was packed and the 92nd Street Y even opened up a room for people to listen to a live simulcast; the only other person the Y has done that for was Woody Allen. We were rapt listening to him chat with Fern for an hour and a half about his childhood, his long and influential stint with the Gucci Group, and his future projects (like doing three movies someday).

It’s always interesting to see which trends from the runways trickle down into the collections of high street retailers like H&M.
The Swedish retailer debuted its fall 2012 collection at a press preview yesterday, and from the looks of things, there will be sleek silhouettes, harnesses, very short shorts, leather peplums, digital floral prints, brocade, turtlenecks, baseball jackets and lots of sparkle at an H&M near you. Oh, and the first look has a skirt with a very high slit revealing…the right leg. So, that phenomenon isn’t going anywhere. Read more »

Well, our day is off to the best start imaginable. It’s all downhill from here. This morning, Karl Lagerfeld tweeted the above photograph of his adorable little baby kitty Choupette relaxing in what appears to be a bed, playing with an iPad. Ahhh.
To make things even cuter, the photo is accompanied by the caption “iPet” and he made Choupette a hashtag (or whoever is actually behind that Twitter–we’re still not entirely sold on the idea that Karl knows how to Tweet)! Read more »

Since Brad Pitt’s the New Face of Chanel, Here are Other Famous Dudes in Fashion Ads
Chanel announced today that Brad Pitt would be the new face of Chanel No. 5–making him the first ever male spokesperson for the iconic fragrance. That got us thinking: Could other storied brands go the same route as Chanel? Will we be seeing more handsome male faces in some of our favorite campaigns?
If that’s the case, supermodel Coco Rocha is not going to be happy. She tweeted earlier today: “No working model is happy for Brad Pitt and his new gig as the `face’ of Chanel No. 5.#ThingsBitterModelsSay Cc: @Models@StyleWatchMag.” Ouch. No doubt, Rocha would have leapt at the chance to represent the brand, whose eponymous designer she shares a first name with.
But while we highly doubt models like Rocha will get edged out by leading male actors, we couldn’t resist the chance to re-cast some of our favorite ads–with a little more testosterone this time.
Click through to see what James Franco, David Beckham, One Direction, and more, would look like as the faces of some of the most iconic fashion brands.
